I am currently enrolled at Taylor University where I'm working towards a degree in English education. I've always been someone who had a knack for excelling in the classroom. When I was in high school, I used my study skills to help me as I took honors, AP, and dual-credit classes, in addition to scoring perfectly on the English portion of the ACT. As a tutor, it's my goal to share my study habits and critical thinking skills with students who're looking to succeed in the classroom. I know that everyone learns differently, which is why I like to create custom-tailored lessons that are designed with a specific student's needs in mind. That way, I'm able to build upon their already existing strengths while aiding them in overcoming their weaknesses. As a teacher, I believe that it's important to teach students in a way that helps them practically apply their classroom knowledge outside of the classroom. A good teacher does more than just test prep - they also empower students by giving them the life skills they need to succeed and solve problems on their own. When I'm not studying or working as a tutor, I like to spend my time cycling, camping, and rock climbing.
